What is a suitability assessment?

Under Section 21(5) of the Hungarian Occupational Safety Act, certain hazardous work equipment may only be placed into service after an accredited suitability assessment; the affected categories are specified in the relevant implementing regulation. GÉPTESZT is authorised for:

Site-assembled power-driven cranes

Accredited suitability assessment for individually installed or site-assembled cranes before commissioning.

Lifting equipment temporarily used for personnel lifting

For example, assessment of a forklift used together with a personnel platform.

These are not type examinations. They are project-specific assessments carried out on individual equipment or installed systems. The purpose of the assessment is to verify that the equipment can be operated safely under its intended conditions of use.
